The only large impact loss is Ikegwonu, as he puts a huge gap in our already weak secondary. I think he made a bad choice, not because he isn't ready, but similar to Brian Calhoun, he has nothing to lose by staying in school. He has the talent, but his big problem is that he has mental lapses, and that is costly in the NFL. I think he gets picked on the first day as most talent guys do, I wouldn't mind the Packers taking him, but if he could clear the mental lapses from his resume, he has 1st RD potential. There always seems to be 4-6 CB picked in the 1st RD, mostly by contenders growing replacements, or helping their nickel team, or by bad teams who need a corner badly. The coaches, I could care less. The offensive line has been studly for the last couple of years, but was that the talent or the coaches. Joe Thomas made a great transition to the NFL, so i'll say the players. The defensive coordinator was great last year, sucked this year. Sound familiar. Coaches are almost always graded on performance, not actual teaching methods or tactics. The whole team underachieved this year, at least as perceived by the media, and the defense was a large part of that. Waiting on words as replacements.
